CMG CONNECT: Safe Environment Certification

As a volunteer, you are asked to complete the Safe Environment Certification process in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. This certification is one of the ways that our Catholic communities work to prevent abuse in our parishes, schools, and communities. As part of this process, you will be logging into/creating an account in CMG Connect to complete the required online portions of the certification process and to register for a live Safe Environment training. There is no cost to you or the parish for becoming certified other than your time and transportation to and from the live Safe Environment event.

Safe Environment Certification is mandatory for any volunteer working with children.  All adults who volunteer in Religious Education must be in compliance with current Safe Environment standards.

All Ushers should also have safe environment certification.

It is highly recommended that everyone who volunteers goes through this training.

Additional, on-line training may be needed as well as additional background checks (currently, every 5 years). But you will only need to attend one live training event.

If you have safe environment certification from another Catholic institution, please contact the office with details about your training.  You should not have to attend another live event.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact your parish safe environment coordinator, Shelley Bennett, or the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment Office.

Detailed Instructions for setting up an account at  https://milwaukee.cmgconnect.org/ can be found here: Initial Safe Environment Instructions
